It did have the 2.2L 4-cylinder, which made 96 hp when new, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. It was a faded white, with a tan interior, and almost solid chrome wheel covers. The fastback shape made it look sporty, but it really wasn't. It didn't matter to me, I had my own car. I performed my very first oil change on this car.

Plymouth Turismo The Plymouth Turismo (Turismo translates to "tourism" in Italian) started life in 1979 as a 3-door hatchback coupe version of the 5-door Horizon and was called TC3 (or Horizon TC3). In 1981 the TC3 got a performance option package known as TC3 Turismo 2.2 (like the Dodge 024 Charger 2.2), and then became Turismo in 1983.

In 1983, the Volkswagen engine went out of production, so a joint Chrysler/ Peugeot 1.6 L engine was used instead. The Omni 024 was renamed the Charger. The Plymouth Turismo was introduced as a companion entry for 1983, with the TC3 designation now discontinued. [1]
